Linda De Sousa Abreu, a 30-year-old British prison guard, has been sentenced to 15 months in prison after admitting to having sex with inmate Linton Weirich at London’s Wandsworth prison.
The married mother of one was filmed engaging in the act, with the video going viral on social media in June 2024.Judge Martin Edmunds KC condemned Abreu’s misconduct, stating that it compromised discipline within the prison and put fellow officers at risk. “You engaged in sexual activity with a prisoner,” he told her during sentencing, noting her actions undermined the trust and integrity of her position.
Abreu’s illicit acts occurred between June 26 and 28 and included an incident recorded on her body-worn camera as well as by another inmate, who uploaded the footage online. Prosecutors revealed that Abreu also performed oral sex on a second inmate the same day.
Following the viral scandal, Abreu attempted to flee to Madrid but was arrested at Heathrow Airport. A spokesperson for the Prison Service said her conviction serves as a warning, adding, “We’re catching more of the small minority who break the rules by bolstering our Counter Corruption Unit.”
Abreu, who also operates an OnlyFans account, remained silent throughout much of the case. However, she spoke out during the summer to condemn individuals impersonating her on adult content platforms.
