Tropical Depression Four, located south of Cuba, is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Debby over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico later today or tonight.
The storm is forecast to move west-northwestward, bringing heavy rainfall and gusty winds to Florida’s Gulf Coast. A Hurricane Watch has been issued for a portion of the Florida Gulf Coast, with potential landfall expected along Florida’s Big Bend. The storm is anticipated to meander up the Carolina coast early next week, with significant rainfall expected in Florida, particularly on the western side of the state.
