Mark Ruffalo faces backlash on X after criticizing Elon Musk, with users accusing him of opposing free speech.
Actor Mark Ruffalo, known for his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is facing criticism on X (formerly Twitter) for his recent comments about Elon Musk.
In a post on X, the 56-year-old actor quoted Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, linking to a Huffington Post article discussing Brazil’s decision to block Musk’s platform after the company refused to name a local representative amid a legal dispute. Ruffalo also criticized Musk, calling him a “weird and entitled billionaire tech bro” and advocating for taxing him heavily.
This sparked a wave of backlash on X, with users roasting the actor for his comments.
One user accused Ruffalo of siding with a foreign authoritarian government over free speech, while another pointed out the irony of criticizing free speech while using the platform to express his views.
Another user went further, accusing Ruffalo of openly advocating for communism and opposing free speech.
Podcaster Tara Bull questioned whether Ruffalo had “lost his mind.”
The actor, who frequently engages in political activism, is often criticized by right-wing supporters for his outspoken views.
