1 dead, 1 injured after shooting incident spreads to two hospitals in Spring Branch: HPD

The Houston Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two men hospitalized and a suspect in custody following an incident in the Spring Branch area on Saturday evening.

Officers responded to reports of a group of men exchanging gunfire in a parking lot near the 1700 block of Johanna Drive. Upon arrival, they found a trail of blood and multiple shell casings, but no victims at the scene.

After canvassing the area with no results, authorities contacted a local clinic and learned that one man had died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Shortly after, officers were informed of another victim at a different hospital who claimed to have been involved in the same shooting, according to police.

The suspect was apprehended at the hospital, though police did not provide additional details regarding the arrest.

The victims, both men between 18 and 22 years old, have not been identified. The cause of the shooting remains unclear.
