He emphasized that presidential leadership involves “sober analysis” and the instinct to “lead with resolve,” skills he relates to from his experiences in air combat and space exploration.
Aldrin highlighted achievements from Trump’s first term that he feels advanced America’s space ambitions, particularly the creation of the Space Force and the reestablishment of the National Space Council, which advises the president on national space policy. “Under President Trump’s first term, America saw a revitalized interest in space,” Aldrin said, applauding efforts to prioritize human space exploration. He cited the administration’s initiatives for returning to the Moon and expanding space policy, saying, “These are concrete accomplishments that align with my concerns and America’s policy priorities.”
Aldrin also recognized contributions by “visionaries” in the private sector space economy, including Elon Musk, whom he credits with advancing commercial spaceflight. With these factors in mind, Aldrin concluded, “For me, for the future of our Nation… I believe the nation is best served by voting for Donald J. Trump.” He closed his endorsement with “Godspeed President Trump, and God Bless the United States of America,” underscoring his alignment with Trump’s policies on space and national security.
