Meta-owned platforms, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, experienced a global outage on Wednesday, causing widespread disruption for millions of users.
The outage, left users unable to send or receive messages, make calls, or access WhatsApp Web, affecting users across Android, iOS, and desktop platforms.
On WhatsApp, users faced issues sending messages and making calls, while Facebook was completely inaccessible. Instagram also suffered, with users reporting being logged out and others experiencing unresponsiveness.
The outage was not confined to Pakistan. Users from several countries, including the UK, Turkey, UAE, India, and Latin America, reported similar issues. Posts on social media platform X highlighted the widespread disruption across various regions.
Many users initially assumed the problem was related to their local internet connections or apps, prompting them to refresh or check their networks.
Meanwhile, X was inundated with memes and posts, with over 500 reactions appearing within a minute, according to search results.
