Andie MacDowell shared a humorous take on fame during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, revealing she’s experiencing what she calls “reverse nepotism.”
The Way Home actress explained that her daughter, actress Margaret Qualley, has made her “cool” again. “Nepotism is something they always accuse the children of,” MacDowell quipped. “But I’m now cool because I’m Margaret Qualley’s mom. And also Jack Antonoff’s mother-in-law. It’s a double whammy.”
MacDowell, shared that she’s been receiving fan mail from teenagers who now admire her work, thanks to her connection to her daughter, a Golden Globe-nominated actress known for her standout role in The Substance.
“The movie is fantastic, and she takes so many chances. She’s so much braver than I could have ever been,” MacDowell said, praising Qualley’s career choices.
Qualley, 30, has forged her path in Hollywood, earning acclaim for her performances and marrying Jack Antonoff, the singer-songwriter and Taylor Swift collaborator.
MacDowell, who’s starred in films like Hudson Hawk and Groundhog Day, also has two other children, Rainey and Justin Qualley, whom she shares with ex-husband Paul Qualley.
