ASAP Rocky jokes about new album release at Paris Fashion Week: ‘You Gon’ Get Me Beat Up Out Here’

Fans await answers as rapper avoids giving a release date for "Don't Be Dumb" during fashion event.

ASAP Rocky playfully dodged a question about his long-awaited new album, Don’t Be Dumb, during Paris Fashion Week, telling a paparazzo, “You gon’ get me beat up out here” in response to the inquiry. The rapper, who has been teasing the album since 2022, smiled as he joked,

“Don’t do me like that. Listen, don’t make me do that right now, man. You gonna get me beat up out here, bro. They looking, they on my head, bro. ‘Cause of questions like that! I can’t even… I gotta go.” His fans, eagerly awaiting the release, were left with no new updates on the album’s release date, which was originally set for August 2024 before being delayed due to sample clearance issues and leaks.

In 2023, Rocky teased that Don’t Be Dumb would feature production from top names such as Tyler, the Creator, Madlib, Hit-Boy, Boi-1da, Alchemist, Metro Boomin, Mike Dean, and Clams Casino. Last month, he confirmed that the album is “done” but has still yet to announce a specific release date.

In a GQ interview, Rocky expressed that fans are “starving” for his music, adding, “The truth of the matter is fans, they’re starving. And I don’t think that any of us—it’s numerous artists, Frank Ocean, Lauryn Hill, D’Angelo, Rihanna, whoever. I think those people who really take their time to put out timeless pieces, projects, and bodies of work, that’s all that matters.”
