Bella Thorne accuses Mickey Rourke of misconduct during filming of 2020 movie Girl

Bella Thorne alleges Mickey Rourke acted inappropriately during a disturbing scene on set of their 2020 film Girl.

Actress Bella Thorne has accused actor Mickey Rourke of inappropriate and aggressive behavior during the filming of the 2020 thriller Girl, calling it one of the worst experiences of her acting career. The allegations surfaced on April 11, when Thorne, 27, shared her claims on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).

In her posts, Thorne said she felt deeply uncomfortable working with Rourke, 72, describing a particular scene where she was kneeling with her hands zip-tied behind her back. According to Thorne, Rourke was supposed to simulate using a metal grinder on her kneecap for the scene. Instead, she claims, he repeatedly hit her in the pelvic area with the prop through her jeans, leaving her bruised.

“This f—— dude. GROSS,” Thorne wrote on her Instagram Stories, alongside a news article about Rourke receiving a warning for behavior on Celebrity Big Brother UK. She expanded on the incident in further posts, alleging Rourke humiliated her by revving his vehicle to spray her with dirt during filming and refused to communicate with the director and producers. She said she was forced to enter his trailer alone and plead with him to complete his scenes.

Thorne added that she felt compelled to continue with the film despite her discomfort, stating, “I did what I was asked to do and what was best for the movie.”

These accusations come amid other controversies surrounding Rourke, who is facing backlash for reportedly making offensive, homophobic remarks to singer JoJo Siwa on Celebrity Big Brother UK. Rourke’s comments during the reality show have sparked calls for his removal.

As of now, Mickey Rourke has not publicly responded to Thorne’s allegations.
