Did Anthony Edwards pay $1.08 million in child support upfront? Ayesha Howard responds

Court orders NBA star Anthony Edwards to pay ex-girlfriend Ayesha Howard $1.08 million in child support settlement

NBA star Anthony Edwards has been ordered to pay $1.08 million in child support to ex-girlfriend Ayesha Howard following a legal dispute concerning their daughter, Aubri.

Speculation intensified on March 31 after a viral post by X user @PrincessM___ claimed Edwards wanted to pay 18 years of child support in a single lump sum, drawing over 1.3 million views. The rumor quickly gained traction online, fueling widespread assumptions about a dramatic financial settlement.

Howard addressed the rumors directly through The Shade Room and also responded on her Instagram Story, stating, “There are no court documents, motions, or proceedings that have occurred, nor have I been offered or agreed to such terms.”

Meanwhile, legal proceedings moved forward. Edwards, who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves, filed for paternity and child support relief. He confirmed paternity but did not seek custody or visitation, focusing solely on financial terms.

Howard, a California resident, had sought a higher amount of support in line with state guidelines but reportedly lost that motion. Still, the court ultimately ruled in her favor, ordering Edwards to pay $1.08 million in total child support.

Though the viral claims of an upfront lump-sum payment proved to be false, the legal dispute has now reached a financial conclusion. With the matter settled in court, both parties appear to be moving forward separately.

Howard dismissed the viral claims on social media, writing, “Where do these lies be coming from?” and reaffirming that no lump-sum offer had ever been made.
