Celebrity chef and Food Network star Guy Fieri revealed that he was mistaken for a bartender while attending a personal event at Sylvester Stallone’s home in 2020.
Speaking on In Depth with Graham Bensinger, Fieri shared that a woman, unaware of his identity, approached him in the cigar room of Stallone’s house and told him to “lose the jacket, get going.” Fieri, who was wearing a denim jacket, explained, “She thought I was there to work… She thought I was a bartender.” Once the woman realized her mistake and recognized him as the “Mayor of Flavortown,” they shared a laugh about the incident.
Though not bartending, Fieri was actually cooking that day. Initially, Stallone had planned to serve sandwiches at the event, but Fieri insisted on preparing the food himself. He also had the opportunity to meet several celebrities, including Al Pacino, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Describing Pacino, Fieri said, “There’s a different level… he’s nobility… the nicest guy in the world.”
Fieri’s humorous recounting of the event adds to his larger-than-life persona as the host of popular shows like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, as well as a bestselling cookbook author.
