Madonna has sparked outrage from fans after sharing AI-generated images of herself with Pope Francis.
The Vogue singer took to her Instagram Stories on Friday to share two fake photos of the Pope seemingly getting handsy with her.
In the images, which were created using artificial intelligence technology, Pope could be seen wrapping his arm around Madonna’s waist and his face close to hers.
“Going into the weekend like…,” Madonna wrote alongside the rendered images of them meeting.
On another photo, she penned, “Feels Good to Be Seen……”
The posts were met with a mix of shock and outrage from, who took to social media to share their reactions.
One user asked, “Why would she do that?”
While another noted, “’What is wrong with her?”
“Madonna wanting to get freaky with the Pope?!?!” the third added.
The fourth penned, “That is very creepy!”
“I wish people would just ignore her and her silly social media efforts to be edgy. She’s just trying to get a rise out of everyone, like she often did when she was a young star. Now she’s just sad,” the fifth commented.
Madonna’s post comes after her longtime clash with the Catholic Church, which has been ongoing for over three decades.
