Megyn Kelly is facing backlash after suggesting that actress Sydney Sweeney was invited to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s star-studded Venice wedding because of her physical appearance.
In a segment aired on The Megyn Kelly Show and posted to the show’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, Kelly remarked:
“Sydney Sweeney’s the new toast of the town out there because she’s got these enormous breasts that everybody’s obsessed with… How does she wind up there?”
Kelly went on to question why Sweeney, best known for roles in Euphoria and Anyone But You, was present at the exclusive celebration, implying that her inclusion on the guest list wasn’t due to professional merit.
Her comment quickly went viral and drew widespread criticism online for being objectifying and dismissive.
However, a source cited by Page Six offered a different explanation: Sweeney’s invitation was reportedly tied to her upcoming project with Amazon MGM Studios, the film division under Bezos’s corporate umbrella. “She isn’t close with Jeff or Lauren personally,” the source clarified, framing the invite as a professional courtesy.
Sweeney has not publicly addressed the remarks.
