‘Duck Dynasty’ patriarch Phil Robertson died at the age of 97.
According to Independent, the family of the American hunter announced his death on Sunday with an emotional post on social media.
Korie Robertson, who is married to Robertson’s son Willie, in a post on Instagram confirmed his passing, saying that today they are celebrating “our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson,” who is now with the Lord.
She wrote, “He reminded us often of the words of Paul, ‘You do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.’”
“Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and by his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus. We’re grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others,” she added.
Korie said that for now they are having a private service, but they will share the details about the public celebration of Robertson’s life soon.
Cause of death:
Although the cause of death is not shared yet, the Robertson family in December last year revealed that he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and his longstanding blood disease had worsened in recent years.
His son Jase Robertson on their podcast Unashamed with the Robertson Family said, “According to the doctors, they’re sure that he has some sort of blood disease that’s causing all kinds of problems. He’s just not doing well. He’s really struggling.”
Who is Phil Robertson?
Robertson and his family rose to fame on the A&E series Duck Dynasty, which aired from 2012 to 2017.
