Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is back in custody and is scheduled to appear in federal court in New York on Tuesday.
According to ABC7 New York, the 28-year-old was arrested for allegedly violating the terms of his supervised release, although specific details about the violation have not been disclosed.
6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was originally released from prison in 2020 after pleading guilty to racketeering and conspiracy charges in connection with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.
Hernandez’s 2018 case gained widespread attention when he cooperated with authorities, testifying against his gang associates in exchange for a reduced sentence.
Earlier this year, Hernandez faced legal trouble abroad, with an arrest in Santo Domingo for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, Yailin la Más Viral.
Known for his controversial behavior, 6ix9ine has remained in the public eye for his provocative actions and recently signed a deal with Kartel Music. However, his latest arrest raises questions about the future of his career.
