A 13-year-old student has been accused of making threats to three Willis ISD schools via Snapchat.

A 13-year-old student is facing felony charges after making threats against three schools in the Willis Independent School District via social media.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the student admitted to posting the threats on Snapchat. Officials confirmed that the student is enrolled at Lynn Lucas Middle School.

The student is accused of making terroristic threats against Willis High School, Brabham Middle School, and Lynn Lucas Middle School.

“All threats of violence are taken extremely seriously. These actions are not considered jokes and will lead to full legal consequences to ensure accountability and maintain school safety,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement on Monday.

Authorities also stated that the student did not have access to firearms and that the student’s parents are cooperating with the investigation. The motive for the threats remains unclear.
