Several Houston-area schools experienced unrelated incidents involving weapons or threats on Wednesday within just a few hours.
At Sterling High School in Houston ISD, a stabbing occurred around 10 a.m., prompting a brief lockdown. According to HISD, the incident arose from a fight between two students. The injured student was transported to the hospital in unknown condition, while the suspect, also a student, was taken into custody.
### Elsik High School
Alief ISD placed Elsik High School on lockdown after a student allegedly brought a kitchen knife to campus. The district reported that once all individuals involved were apprehended, the school entered a secure status. The lockdown was later lifted, and classes resumed as normal, though no further details about the incident were provided.
Spring High School
Shortly afterward, Spring ISD announced that a student at Spring High School was detained for possessing a firearm on campus. In a letter to parents, the principal informed them that the weapon had been found in a theater and safely retrieved. The Spring ISD police department is currently investigating how the gun made it onto the premises, and the student may face criminal charges.
Bellaire High School
Around 12:15 p.m., Bellaire High School received a bomb threat, prompting students to remain in their classrooms. Police quickly responded to investigate the situation. Following a thorough search of the building, HISD police confirmed there was no threat, and by 2:20 p.m., the campus was cleared, allowing classes to continue as usual, according to an email from the school principal.
