Two brothers in their 20s are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in north Harris County, according to sheriff’s investigators. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Monday at a townhome in the 15100 block of Ella Boulevard, near West Airtex Boulevard, just west of the I-45 North Freeway.
When deputies arrived, they discovered both men with fatal gunshot wounds. Their mother, who was at home during the shooting, called 911 and was later taken to the hospital after suffering an apparent panic attack. She told authorities she heard a disturbance coming from one of her sons’ bedrooms and forced her way in, finding both of them shot.
Investigators believe the 22-year-old brother shot his 24-year-old brother, who had autism, before turning the gun on himself. A single pistol was found at the scene. Deputies had previously responded to the residence for calls related to mental health issues involving one of the brothers.
“We don’t have a confirmed motive at this time,” said Sgt. Sidney Miller. “We are aware of a medical history with one of the sons, but it’s still unclear if that played a role.”
