Residents of the Cinco Ranch neighborhood are on high alert after the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office reported a man posing as security personnel and going door to door.
Caught on doorbell camera footage, the man is believed to be behind several strange and unsettling encounters at residents’ homes.
“It’s shocking. I’ve never experienced anything like this,” said Ben Simiskey, recalling last Saturday when a stranger knocked on his door and introduced himself to Simiskey’s son as part of a new neighborhood security team.
“He called himself ‘DaVinci,’ claiming he was with a new security service for the area. He mentioned often having to jump fences, especially late at night,” Simiskey explained.
The situation became even more disturbing when the man asked if anyone in the house walked around naked. “My son didn’t know how to respond to that,” Simiskey added.
Other neighbors have reported similar encounters, prompting the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office to warn the community to stay vigilant.
Sheriff Eric Fagan advised, “Don’t open the door. Speak through the door or contact law enforcement immediately. We don’t want anyone confronting him.”
As authorities continue their search, residents are banding together and reviewing safety measures. Simiskey emphasized the importance of caution: “Now is a good time to discuss who you’re speaking to at the door and what information you’re sharing, with family, friends, and neighbors.”
FBCSO is also on the lookout. Deputies have a description of what they believe is the truck he was driving, and patrol units are in the area searching for him.
