Houston Police Department (HPD) is investigating a shooting in the Third Ward that left one man dead and another in critical condition.
The incident occurred late Friday evening at an apartment complex near the intersection of MacGregor and Tierwester.
Upon arriving at the scene after responding to a shots fired call, officers found a man who had been shot in the arm and torso. He was immediately transported to a hospital, where he underwent surgery and remains in critical condition. Later, officers were informed of a second potential victim at a nearby complex. They found a man, described as “suspicious” due to wearing a mask and being armed with a pistol, shot to death in a parking lot.
Investigators believe both men were shot at the same location, with the surviving victim possibly fleeing by jumping a fence. At this time, authorities have not established a clear connection between the two men or determined what led to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
