When will fall temperatures start to cool off in Houston?

Southeast Texas hasn’t quite felt that true “fall” weather yet, but that should change later this week when the next cold front arrives.

For Veterans Day, expect temperatures to reach the low 80s, with plenty of sunshine. Another warm, dry day is forecasted for Tuesday before a cool front moves in on Wednesday.

**When will we see a real cooldown?**
We’ll get a brief taste of cooler, more seasonal conditions on Tuesday morning when temperatures dip into the upper 50s. The real change, though, should come later this week. The next cold front is expected Wednesday night, but it’s shaping up to be more of a Pacific front. This will likely drop humidity for a day or two without bringing a significant temperature drop. We’re now expecting one morning in the mid-50s and a couple of afternoons in the 70s after the front.

**Will there be any rain or thunderstorms with Wednesday’s front?**
There’s currently a 20% chance of showers on Wednesday. A bit of moisture from the Gulf could drift up toward the Southeast Texas coast, offering a small rain chance Tuesday as well. However, this front is mostly dry and will primarily impact temperatures later this week. Overall, rain chances remain low over the next seven days.
