The people of both Pakistan and India have ultimately won the Indo-Pak war ignited by India on May 6, 2025 by striking Pakistani cities ‑ Lahore, Bahawalpur, Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bagh, Ahmedpur East, Sialkot and Shakargarh. At a time when the two governments are engaged in warmongering, the people on both sides of the divide are fearless, many of them even joyous and enjoying the aura of every coming moment.
Being in the era of social media, the people are aware of every development on both sides. Every time there is an inflow of news of missile, jet, drone or cyber attacks by India, the Pakistanis laugh them off. Evert time there are some news from Pakistan about the damage caused to India, the Indians demand evidence and also laugh it off. It’s because there is nothing tangible in the overwhelming news of fight and destruction. On Wednesday (May 7) when all Pakistani media outlets including TVs and newspapers flashed the news of Indian missile strikes inside Pakistan, a leading Pakistani media group, which comprises TV as well as English and Urdu newspapers, gave three varying versions of the same episode. The group’s TV claimed that two Indian jets were downed by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). The group’s English newspaper said three jets were shot down while its Urdu newspaper claimed five. Which one to believe, or believe nobody? The Pakistanis opted for the latter.
From Tuesday to Thursday, the sea of rumours remained flowing. Every second minute, there were news of attacks both by Pakistan and India and every second minute, there were denials. On Thursday, the Indian social media was continuously airing the news of Pakistani attacks on India-administered Kashmir and the Golden Temple city of Amritsar. The same time there were repeated denials by the Inter-Services Public Relations that Pakistan launched no attack on Indian civilians since Tuesday and would also not do it in the coming days.
As regards 31 casualties in Indian strikes across Punjab and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, including a 3-year-old girl, the Pakistanis say they have seen over 80,000 martyrdoms since 9/11, some more can’t shake their resolve. Surprisingly, since the Pahalgam attack on April 22, both hawks and doves in Pakistan and India are in the fray. But the doves have pocketed the victory. They don’t want war. They want peace and love on both sides of the borders. The loud sounds of love seem to be dominating the arena as people of both the countries have learnt something from the promising future of Europe which reached today’s harmonious stage after fighting for centuries.
“The establishments of both Pakistan and India were noticing a decline in their popularity ‑ the RSS-VHP-BJP combo of India after facing lows in the country’s 18th Lok Sabha elections in 2024, and the army-PMLN-PPP combo in Pakistan after using Form 47 in the general elections 2024. The Mullahs of both sides did not like it. They planned to reinvigorate their coffers and came to fixed bouts. As per the US plan, India was to show its jugglery first and then was Pakistan’s turn. The background India made itself by killing 26 tourists in Pahalgam and then struck Pakistan at almost nine locations on April 6. Pakistan is now raising the hullabaloo before doing something impressive for its own citizens. There is nothing else,” said a senior Pakistani journalist while talking to this scribe. He pointed to the irrefutable security lapse in Pahalgam and its surrounding mountains where hundreds of thousands of Indian soldiers are stationed round the clock. In such a high security zone where a bird can’t fly without India’s permission, how five armed ‘terrorists’ reached their destination and smoothly vanished after launching a killing spree, he said.
“As a matter of fact, whatever India and Pakistan did to consolidate their repute among their people has turned to ruins. Their drama has been exposed, the proof of which is that both Pakistanis and Indians have realized the facts and are booing their governments off. Now whatever Pakistan does as per the script, it is also going to fall on deaf ears. This ongoing series will probably air the last episode until Sunday – the common day off. And then again will come the era of routine rhetoric,” the journalist said.
Several video clips by Pakistani social media activists are also on record, questioning the uninterrupted flights of Indian missiles into Pakistani territory. They are raising the finger of suspicion at Pakistan’s missile defence system and its ability. Why was no Indian missile shot down before landing in Pakistan despite the fact that Pakistan is a big military and nuclear power. If Israel can interrupt thousands of missiles being fired by the Huthis and save its land and citizens, why Pakistan can’t do it, the social media is asking. “Why US Secretary of State Macro Rubio announced before April 6 that India would launch controlled attacks on Pakistan in the coming days. And India did it. Is it a coincidence or reality?” questioned a source familiar with international security affairs.
Allegations and counter-allegations are being made on both sides, by the hawks as well as the doves. What is correct and what is incorrect? It is all a mess. But one thing can be noted down for sure that there is something wrong in the bottom. It is a consensus in both Pakistan and India that sanity must prevail. All the people in Pakistan and India want to live in peace and love as they lived peacefully over centuries in Hindustan. The only creature which doesn’t want peace on these lands is the Mullah, whether he is from Muslims or from Hindus. If the Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JD) in Pakistan comprises radicals and loves to fight, what the RSS does in the guise of the BJP. Don’t they kill Muslims in the name of Hindutva? What is that? That is also Mullahism. The JD and the RSS are two sides of the same coin!
