Wrestling icon Sid Eudy, widely known as ‘Sycho Sid,’ has passed away at 63 following a prolonged battle with cancer, his family confirmed.

Eudy’s son, Gunnar, shared the news on Facebook, expressing deep sadness over the loss of his father, who he described as a man of strength, kindness, and love. He also thanked everyone for their support during this difficult time and mentioned that details for a memorial service would be announced soon.

Eudy, also known by his ring names ‘Sid Vicious’ and ‘Sid Justice,’ was a towering figure in the wrestling world, standing 6-foot-9. He made his debut with WCW in 1989 and went on to become a six-time world champion, holding titles in both WWF (now WWE) and WCW.

The WWE’s official website noted that Sid’s career could have been even greater if not for a leg injury in 2001, stating that his accomplishments could have rivaled the best in WWE history. In a statement released after his death, a WWE spokesperson expressed sadness at Eudy’s passing, highlighting his natural charisma, imposing presence, and significant influence on the wrestling industry.

Born in West Memphis, Arkansas, in 1960, Eudy headlined two WrestleManias and competed against legendary wrestlers like Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan. Tributes poured in from fans and colleagues alike, with former wrestler Marc Mero sharing a heartfelt message on social media, recalling Sid as one of the first wrestlers he faced in WCW and praising his character.
