Neuralink’s latest brain implant surgery a ‘Success’: Paralyzed patient can design 3D objects and play Counter-Strike 2

Neuralink, a company led by Elon Musk, has successfully implanted its brain-computer interface device, known as the Link, into a second human patient named Alex as part of its PRIME Study.

This study aims to help individuals with neurological conditions regain function. Following the surgery, Alex was able to play the video game Counter-Strike 2 using only his thoughts, demonstrating the technology’s potential to restore motor functions.

The procedure was reported to have gone well, with Alex being discharged the day after. Neuralink’s long-term vision is to scale this technology to assist hundreds, potentially thousands or even millions of people within the next decade, offering hope for those with mobility impairments due to accidents or diseases.
