U.S. President Donald Trump is facing widespread backlash after releasing an AI-generated video that portrays Gaza as a luxurious, futuristic paradise, erasing the realities of ongoing occupation, displacement, and suffering in the region. The video, posted on Trump’s Truth Social account, features golden statues of Trump, bearded men in bikinis, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lounging poolside—a depiction many have condemned as insensitive and dehumanizing.
President of the United States posts video of him taking over Gaza with his statue for worship, dollars raining, Trump Gaza as centrepiece as he & Netanyahu chill at the beach. Ethnic cleansing rebranded as a real estate deal. Colonialist White Supremacist Zionism. Pure Evil. pic.twitter.com/uJIk7FLykE

The video opens with scenes of Gaza’s war-torn devastation, featuring fighters resembling Hamas militants. However, it abruptly transitions to a glitzy, Dubai-like landscape with pristine beaches, five-star hotels, and a Trump-branded luxury resort. The message suggests that Palestinian suffering could be erased through commercial redevelopment rather than addressing human rights violations, occupation, and military aggression.
A song in the video reinforces this tone, with lyrics stating:
“Donald’s coming to set you free. Bringing the light for all to see. No more tunnels. No more fear. Trump Gaza is finally here.”
The video follows Trump’s previous controversial proposal advocating for Gaza to be depopulated and placed under U.S. or Israeli control. His remarks were widely condemned by Palestinian leaders, human rights organizations, and Arab nations, who accused him of pushing for ethnic cleansing and attempting to erase Palestinian identity.
The Palestinian Authority denounced Trump’s statements, declaring:
“The rights of our people and our land are not for sale, exchange, or bargaining.”
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh rejected Trump’s portrayal of Gaza, calling it “absurd” and emphasizing that Gaza is an integral part of Palestinian land and history. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu—one of Trump’s closest allies—praised the video, calling the vision “revolutionary.” His endorsement has further angered Palestinians and their supporters worldwide.
As millions of Palestinians continue to suffer under Israel’s blockade and military occupation, Trump’s video has been seen as a mockery of their struggle, trivializing their displacement and humanitarian crisis while pushing a colonial narrative that prioritizes profit over Palestinian sovereignty and justice.
