The 359th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Guru of Sikhism, was recently celebrated with great fervour at Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal, Pakistsn. The celebrations began with prayers and hymns, followed by a grand cake-cutting ceremony featuring a 50-pound cake.
The highlight of the event was the Palki Sahib procession, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Sikh community, including international visitors.
A special attraction of the event was the Gatka (traditional Sikh martial arts) performance by Sikh children, which received immense appreciation from the attendees. The vibrant performances symbolised Sikhism’s rich cultural heritage.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s teachings as a beacon of peace, unity, and compassion for humanity. He emphasised the importance of such events in fostering interfaith harmony and understanding.
The management of Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib ensured seamless arrangements for the attendees, including a traditional Langar (community meal) for all.
