Israeli attacks kill 73 in Gaza on Friday: health official

Israeli attacks on Palestinians in the Gaza strip killed at least 73 on Friday including 35 people who were waiting to receive aid.

A medical source at al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat told Al Jazeera that 35 people were killed and a number of others wounded after being targeted by the Israeli army while waiting to receive aid near the Netzarim Corridor.

Gaza is facing a man-made drought as its water systems collapse, the United Nations’ children agency said on Friday.

“Children will begin to die of thirst … Just 40% of drinking water production facilities remain functional,” UNICEF spokesperson James Elder told reporters in Geneva.

“We are way below emergency standards in terms of drinking water for people in Gaza,” he added.
