Speaking at the event, Khan said the tradition reflected London’s diversity and inclusivity. “It is a matter of pride that we continue to install Ramadan lights, demonstrating our commitment to recognising all faiths,” he said.

Khan also addressed Islamophobia, stressing the need for engagement with local communities. “Some people spread misinformation about Muslims,” he said.

“We must show the true image of Islam, where people pray, give to charity, and even break their fast with non-Muslims.”

On a separate note, Khan commented on the Champions Trophy, expressing disappointment that both England and Pakistan had been eliminated.

However, he highlighted the tournament as an opportunity to showcase Pakistan as a safe destination for international cricket.
