Pakistan Association Dubai sets Guinness World Record for creating largest UAE flag made of handprints

The flag is made up of 24,514 handprints from people representing over 100 nationalities.

In a celebration of unity and community, the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) has officially entered the Guinness World Record for creating the largest UAE flag made of handprints, featuring 24,514 individual imprints from people representing over 100 nationalities, reported Arab News.

The record-breaking flag was unveiled during a special ceremony at the Pakistan Auditorium, PAD, where a Guinness World Records adjudicator confirmed the achievement.

The event was attended by over 250 guests, including the Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, and Consul General Hussain Muhammad.

The recognition comes as part of PAD’s Hands of Unity campaign, a month-long effort in conjunction with the UAE’s Year of Community. The project brought together people from 23 schools and universities, and 39 activation sites across the Emirates, reported Gulf Today.

The record was jointly awarded to Pakistan Association Dubai, the community initiative Emirates Loves, and Rubab Zahra, the artist and creative force behind the flag.

PAD is a volunteer-run, non-profit organisation established in the 1960s to serve the Pakistani expatriate community in the UAE by promoting social welfare, preserving cultural heritage, and supporting community development among the Pakistani diaspora.

As the UAE continues to mark the Year of Community, PAD reinforces the role of diaspora communities in nurturing cross-cultural understanding — one handprint at a time.
